At 19 years old, I began my career in construction, working as a commercial mechanical framer for a company in Austin, Texas. That experience gave me a strong foundation in the construction industry and introduced me to the discipline and work ethic required to succeed in the field.

At 21, after my son was born, I transitioned into the water industry and started working as a Water Technician in the distribution department for a water company. In this role, I was responsible for repairing water leaks, reading and replacing water meters, maintaining hydrants, and handling all aspects of water distribution systems.

After several years of hands-on experience, I was promoted to Assistant Supervisor within the inspections department. There, I gained valuable experience overseeing projects and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. A few years later, I advanced to Supervisor of the Inspections Department, where I led plan reviews for both commercial and residential developments. This role deepened my understanding of the development process and expanded my knowledge of how projects operate within the public sector.

Continuing to grow professionally, I was later promoted to Field Service Manager, where I managed multiple departments and teams. This position allowed me to develop leadership skills, operational oversight, and a broader perspective on infrastructure and service delivery.
